[Musa (Moses)] said: "O my Lord! Open for me my chest (grant me self-confidence, contentment, and boldness). 25 “And make my task easy for me.” 26 Loosen the knot in my tongue, 27 so that they may understand me. 28 Appoint for me of my folk a familiar, 29 Let it be my brother Aaron 30 Strengthen my back by him, 31 "And make him share my task: 32 That we may exalt You much 33 and may remember You much. 34 "For Thou art He that (ever) regardeth us." 35 Said He, 'Thou art granted, Moses, thy petition. 36 And certainly We bestowed on you a favor at another time; 37 When We revealed to your mother what was revealed; 38 'Put him in a wooden box and cast it in the river. The river will cast it on the bank. An enemy of Ours, and his, will retrieve it.' We bestowed Our love on you that you may be reared under Our eyes. 39 "When your sister went and said: 'Shall I show you one who will nurse him?' So We restored you to your mother, that she might cool her eyes and she should not grieve. Then you did kill a man, but We saved you from great distress and tried you with a heavy trial. Then you stayed a number of years with the people of Madyan (Midian). Then you came here according to the fixed term which I ordained (for you), O Musa (Moses)! 40 And I have chosen you for Myself: 41 "Go with your brother. Take My miracles and do not be reluctant in preaching My message. 42 "Go, both of you, to Pharaoh, for he has indeed transgressed all bounds; 43 “And speak to him courteously, that perhaps he may ponder or have some fear.” 44 'O our Lord' both said, 'We fear lest he may be excessive against us or become insolent' 45 He said: "Fear not: for I am with you: I hear and see (everything). 46 So go to him and say, 'Indeed, we are messengers of your Lord, so send with us the Children of Israel and do not torment them. We have come to you with a sign from your Lord. And peace will be upon he who follows the guidance. 47 'Truly, it has been revealed to us that the torment will be for him who denies [believes not in the Oneness of Allah, and in His Messengers, etc.], and turns away.'(from the truth and obedience of Allah)" 48 (When this message was delivered), (Pharaoh) said: "Who, then, O Moses, is the Lord of you two?" 49 He said, “Our Lord is One Who gave everything its proper shape, then showed the path.” 50 Pharaoh asked: "Then, what is the state of the former generations?" 51 Said Moses, 'The knowledge of them is with my Lord, in a Book; my Lord goes not astray, nor forgets -- 52 Who made the earth for you an expanse and made for you therein paths and sent down water from the cloud; then thereby We have brought forth many species of various herbs. 53 Eat and pasture your cattle, (therein); verily, in this are proofs and signs for men of understanding. 54
