Smoke (Al-Dukhaan)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
Ha. Mim. 1 By the luminious Book. 2 that We have revealed the Quran on a blessed night to warn mankind. 3 On this night, every absolute command coming from Us becomes distinguishable. 4 By a command from Us – indeed it is We Who send. 5 A mercy from your Lord; indeed He only is the All Hearing, the All Knowing. 6 The Lord of the heavens and the earth and all between them, if ye (but) have an assured faith. 7 There is no god but He; He gives life and makes to die; your Lord and the Lord of your fathers, the ancients. 8 Nay, but they are in doubt, playing. 9 So wait thou the day whereon the heaven will bring forth a manifest smoke: 10 Covering the people; this is a painful torment. 11 [They will say], "Our Lord, remove from us the torment; indeed, we are believers." 12 How can a warning benefit them? The Apostle who explained all things clearly had come to them, 13 Then they had turned away from him (Messenger Muhammad SAW) and said: "One (Muhammad SAW) taught (by a human being), a madman!" 14 If We remove the torment a little, you revert back (to misdeeds). 15 The day when We will seize with the greatest seizure – We will indeed take revenge. 16 ۞ We tried Pharaoh's nation before them. A noble Messenger came to them, 17 "Give in unto me, O God's bondmen! Verily, I am an apostle [sent] unto you, worthy of trust! 18 Do not think yourselves to be above God: I have come to you with clear authority. 19 and I take refuge in my Lord and your Lord, lest you should stone me. 20 If you do not want to believe, leave me alone". 21 (But they were aggressive), so he [Musa (Moses)] called upon his Lord (saying): "These are indeed the people who are Mujrimun (disbelievers, polytheists, sinners, criminals, etc.)." 22 (His Lord answered): 'Set out with My worshipers in the night, for you will surely be followed. 23 And leave thou the sea divided: verily they are a host to be drowned. 24 How many were the gardens, springs, 25 And corn-fields and noble buildings, 26 and pleasant things in which they delighted! 27 Such was their end, and what had been theirs We gave to other people to inherit. 28 Neither heaven nor earth shed tears for them; nor were they respited, 29
