The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ When the Occurrence occurs, 1 There is, at its occurrence, no denial. 2 (it will) abase (some) and exalt (others). 3 when the earth shall be rocked 4 And the mountains will be powdered to dust. 5 And become dust dispersing. 6 And you become [of] three kinds: 7 The people of the right hand - those whose books of records will be placed in their right hands. How happy they will be! 8 Then those of the left hand -- how (unhappy) will be those of the left hand! 9 The foremost ones (in faith and virtue) - the foremost ones in receiving their reward. 10 those are they brought near (to their Lord) 11 In gardens of tranquility; 12 A numerous company from among the first, 13 And a few from those of later times. 14 They will recline on jewelled couches 15 Reclining therein face to face. 16 There wait on them immortal youths 17 With vessels, pitchers and a cup [of wine] from a flowing spring - 18 neither causing headaches, nor intoxication; 19 Also, they will be served with the fruits of their choice 20 And the flesh of fowls that they desire. 21 And (there will be) Houris (fair females) with wide, lovely eyes (as wives for the pious), 22 Like pearls safely hidden. 23 All this shall be theirs as a reward for their deeds. 24 They will hear no nonsense there or talk of sin, 25 but only the tiding of inner soundness and peace. 26 The Companions of the Right Hand,- what will be the Companions of the Right Hand? 27 [They, too, will find themselves] amidst fruit laden lote-trees, 28 And banana-trees (with fruits), one above another. 29 and spreading shade 30 And water gushing, 31 And fruits numberless, 32 undiminished and never denied 33 and raised couches 34 Surely We have made them to grow into a (new) growth, 35 We have made them virgins, 36 The beloved of their husbands, of one age. 37 All this will be for the People on the Right; 38
