۞ Nay, I swear by the setting of the stars -- 75 and, behold, this is indeed a most solemn affirmation, if you but knew it! 76 Indeed, it is a noble Qur'an 77 in a well-guarded preserved Book, 78 Which none shall touch but those who are clean: 79 A Revelation from the Lord of the Worlds. 80 So is this the matter regarding which you laze? 81 And to give (it) the lie you make your means of subsistence. 82 Why, then, when [the last breath] comes up to the throat [of a dying man,] 83 And you are at that time looking on - 84 We are closer to him than you, even though you cannot see? 85 why then, if you are not revived, 86 Call back the soul, if ye are true (in the claim of independence)? 87 Thus, then, if he be of those Nearest to Allah, 88 then for him there shall be comfort and plenty and a Garden of Bliss; 89 And if he is one of those on the right hand, 90 Then peace to you from those on the right hand. 91 And if he is one of the rejecters, the erring ones, 92 Then [for him is] accommodation of scalding water 93 And burning in Hell-fire. 94 Indeed, this is the true certainty, 95 So glorify the name of your Lord, the Supreme. 96
