Nay; I swear by the moon, 32 And the night when it departs, 33 And by the dawn when it brightens, 34 Indeed, the Fire is of the greatest [afflictions] 35 A warning unto humankind 36 Whoever of you desires to progress or lag behind. 37 Each soul is held in pledge for what it earns, 38 save those who shall have attained to righteousness: 39 [Who will be] in gardens, questioning each other 40 concerning the sinners, 41 "What has brought you into hell-fire?" 42 They will say, "We were not of those who prayed, 43 we fed not the needy, 44 and we plunged along with the plungers, 45 "And we used to deny the Day of Judgment, 46 until the inevitable event overtook us.” 47 The intercession of the intercessors shall then be of no avail to them. 48 Then what is wrong with them that they turn away from admonition, 49 As though they were asses startled. 50 fleeing from a lion? 51 Nay, but everyone of them desireth that he should be given open pages (from Allah). 52 By no means! Aye, they fear not the Hereafter. 53 No indeed; surely it is a Reminder; 54 so whoever wills shall remember it. 55 And they will not heed unless Allah willeth (it). He is the fount of fear. He is the fount of Mercy. 56
True are the words of God the Almighty.
