The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
By the angels who drag forth vehemently. 1 And those who undo the bonds gently, 2 by those that swim serenely 3 and yet overtake [one another] with swift overtaking: 4 by those that direct an affair! 5 On the Day the blast [of the Horn] will convulse [creation], 6 And the following event will come after it. 7 hearts upon that day shall be athrob 8 Eyes be lowered in submission. 9 They shall say, 'What, are we being restored as we were before? 10 What! when we are rotten bones? 11 They have said, "Such a resurrection will certainly be a great loss". 12 So that is not but a single shout. 13 and lo, they will all be in the open plain. 14 Did the news of Moosa reach you? 15 Lo! His Sustainer called out to him in the twice-hallowed valley: 16 "Go thou to Pharaoh for he has indeed transgressed all bounds: 17 and say: "Will you purify yourself, 18 [If so,] then I shall guide thee towards [a cognition of] thy Sustainer, so that [henceforth] thou wilt stand in awe [of Him].'" 19 So he showed him the great sign, 20 But [Fir'aun (Pharaoh)] belied and disobeyed; 21 and brusquely turned his back [on Moses]; 22 Then he gathered his people and cried aloud, 23 then said: 'I am your lord, the most high' 24 So Allah seized him with the punishment of the hereafter and the former life. 25 Indeed in that is a warning for whoever would fear [Allah]. 26
