The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
When the sun is wound up; 1 and when the stars lose their light, 2 And when the mountains shall made to pass away; 3 the young barren camels are abandoned, 4 The wild beasts stampede on the run, 5 And when the seas rise, 6 when the souls shall be coupled, 7 And when the female infant buried alive is asked 8 For what crime she was put to death; 9 When the scrolls are laid open; 10 when heaven is stripped, 11 when Hell is set ablaze, 12 And when the garden is brought nigh, 13 Every soul shall (then) know what it has prepared. 14 I swear by the receding stars. 15 That run their course (and) hide themselves, 16 And the Night as it dissipates; 17 and the morning when it extends, 18 That this is indeed the word of an honoured Messenger, 19 Owner of strength, of established dignity with the Lord of the Throne. 20 Obeyed (by the angels), trustworthy there (in the heavens). 21 And (O people) your companion (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) is not a madman; 22 He had surely seen Him on the clear horizon. 23 he is not grudging of the Unseen. 24 And it is not the word of an accursed Satan; 25 So whither do you stray? 26 It is naught but a reminder for the nations, 27 (With profit) to whoever among you wills to go straight: 28 And what will you wish, except if Allah wills – the Lord of the Creation. 29
