The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By the sky, and by the nightly comer! 1 And what will make you to know what At-Tariq (night-comer) is? 2 The star of piercing brightness; 3 There is no living being but there is a protector over it. 4 Let man consider what he was made of: 5 He was created from spurting fluid, 6 Emerging from between the backbone and the ribs. 7 Surely (Allah) is able to bring him back (to life)! 8 On the day when all secrets will be made public, 9 and [man] will have neither strength nor helper! 10 By the rotating heavens 11 And the earth which splitteth (with the growth of trees and plants) 12 It is surely a decisive utterance; 13 It is not a thing for amusement. 14 They are hatching up a plot, 15 But I too am devising a plan. 16 Let, then, the deniers of the truth have their will: let them have their will for a little while. 17
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
