Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Has the story reached thee of the overwhelming (Event)? 1 On that Day, there shall be downcast faces, 2 Labouring (hard), weary,- 3 They will enter in the hot blazing Fire, 4 their drink shall be from a boiling spring. 5 They shall have no food except bitter dry thorns 6 Neither nourishing nor banishing hunger. 7 Faces on that Day shall be delighted, 8 Pleased with their striving,- 9 In a lofty garden, 10 They shall hear therein no vain discourse; 11 therein a running fountain, 12 raised couches, 13 And goblets ready placed! 14 and cushions arrayed in rows, 15 And carpets ready spread, 16 Do they not look at the Camels, how they are made?- 17 And the sky: how it was raised high? 18 And the mountains: how they were fixed? 19 And the earth – how it has been spread out? 20 So remind them (O Muhammad (Peace be upon him)), you are only a one who reminds. 21 Thou art not one to manage (men's) affairs. 22 Save the one who turns away and disbelieves 23 Then Allah will punish him with the greatest punishment. 24 Verily, to Us will be their return; 25 Then indeed only upon Us is their reckoning. 26
