Jinns (Al-Jinn)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ Say: 'It is revealed to me that a party of jinn listened then said: "We have indeed heard a wonderful Koran, 1 Which guideth unto righteousness, so we believe in it and we ascribe no partner unto our Lord. 2 And (we believe) that He - exalted be the glory of our Lord! - hath taken neither wife nor son, 3 "'And [now we know] that the foolish among us were wont to say outrageous things about God, 4 and we had thought that men and jinn would never speak against God a lie. 5 But there were certain men from mankind who would take refuge with certain males from the jinn and they increased them in tyranny. 6 They thought, as you did, that God would never raise up anyone from the dead. 7 And we have sought [to reach] the heaven but found it filled with powerful guards and burning flames. 8 There, we would sit to eavesdrop, but now an eavesdropper finds a flame in wait for him. 9 And we do not know [therefore] whether evil is intended for those on earth or whether their Lord intends for them a right course. 10 As for us, some of us are righteous and others are not. We have all followed different ways. 11 And we know that we cannot frustrate Allah in the earth, nor can we frustrate Him by flight. 12 And when we heard the guidance, we believed in it. And whoever believes in his Lord will not fear deprivation or burden. 13 And that some of us are those who submit, and some of us are the deviators; so whoever submits, these aim at the right way: 14 but those who deviated from the Truth, will be the fuel for Hell.” 15 If they had followed the Path We would give to them abundant water to drink, 16 That We might try them thereby. And whosoever turns away from the Reminder of his Lord (i.e. this Quran, and practice not its laws and orders), He will cause him to enter in a severe torment (i.e. Hell). 17 And that the mosques are Allah's, therefore call not upon any one with Allah: 18 and when Allah's servant stood up to call on Him, they well-nigh swarmed him. 19
