The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the pluckers (the angels of death), violently plucking (the souls of the unbelievers), 1 And those who undo the bonds gently, 2 by the swimmers (angels) swimming gently 3 by the angels who hasten along 4 Then those who regulate the affair. 5 On the day when the first trumpet sound blasts 6 and the second blast follows it, 7 On that Day some hearts shall tremble (with fright), 8 Their eyes humbled. 9 They say: “Shall we indeed be restored to life, 10 "What! - when we shall have become rotten bones?" 11 They say: "It would, in that case, be a return with loss!" 12 [But,] then, that [Last Hour] will be [upon them of a sudden, as if it were] but a single accusing cry 13 and they will be upon the surface of the earth (alive). 14 Have you heard the story of Moses? 15 when his Lord called him in the holy valley of Tuwa, 16 Saying: go thou unto Fir'awn; verily he hath waxen exorbitant. 17 And say to him: "Would you purify yourself (from the sin of disbelief by becoming a believer)", 18 Then I will guide you to your Lord that you may come to fear Him.'" 19 Then [Musa (Moses)] showed him the great sign (miracles). 20 But [Fir'aun (Pharaoh)] belied and disobeyed; 21 He then turned away, striving in his effort. 22 And he gathered [his people] and called out 23 Saying: "I am alone your lord, the highest of them all." 24 So Allah seized him (and made him) an example for the after (life) and for the former. 25 Most surely there is in this a lesson to him who fears. 26
