Verily Ibrahim was a pattern, devout unto Allah, upright, and, not of the associaters. 120 he was thankful for His blessings. God chose him and guided him to a straight path. 121 And We gave him good in this world, and in the next he will most surely be among the good. 122 Then We revealed to thee: 'Follow thou the creed of Abraham, a man of pure faith and no idolater.' 123 The Sabbath was only appointed for those who were at variance thereon; surely thy Lord will decide between them on the Day of Resurrection, touching their differences. 124 Call them unto the way of thy Lord with Wisdom and goodly exhortation, and argue with them with that which is best. Verily thy Lord! He is the Best Knower of him who hath strayed from His way, and He is the Best Knower of the guided ones. 125 Hence, if you have to respond to an attack [in argument,] respond only to the extent of the attack levelled against you; but to bear yourselves with patience is indeed far better for [you, since God is with] those who are patient in adversity. 126 And do thou be patient, for thy patience is but from Allah; nor grieve over them: and distress not thyself because of their plots. 127 Surely Allah is with those who guard (against evil) and those who do good (to others). 128
