Noah (Nooh)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
Surely We sent Nuh to his people, saying: Warn your people before there come upon them a painful chastisement. 1 He said: "O my people! Verily, I am a plain warner to you, 2 [Saying], 'Worship Allah, fear Him and obey me. 3 "He (Allah) will forgive you of your sins and respite you to an appointed term. Verily, the term of Allah when it comes, cannot be delayed, if you but knew." 4 He said; 'My Lord, I have called my people by night and by day, 5 But my call has only made them flee the more: 6 Every time I have called to them, so that You might forgive them, they have only thrust their fingers into their ears, covered themselves up with their garments, grown obstinate, and given themselves up to arrogance. 7 "So I have called to them aloud; 8 Then surely I spoke to them in public and I spoke to them in secret: 9 "Saying, 'Ask forgiveness from your Lord; for He is Oft-Forgiving; 10 He will send down abundant rain from the sky for you, 11 and will aid you with worldly goods and children, and will bestow upon you gardens, and bestow upon you running waters. 12 What is the matter with you that you fear not the greatness of Allah? 13 When He created you by (divers) stages? 14 "Have you not seen that God has created the seven heavens one above the other 15 And has made the moon a light therein, and made the sun a lamp? 16 "'And Allah has produced you from the earth growing (gradually), 17 "'And in the End He will return you into the (earth), and raise you forth (again at the Resurrection)? 18 Allah has made the earth spread out for you 19 That you may go about therein in broad roads. 20
