Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ Nay, I swear by the Day of Resurrection; 1 Nay! I swear by the self-accusing soul. 2 Does man think that We cannot [resurrect him and] bring his bones together again? 3 Indeed, We have the power to restore his very finger tips! 4 None the less man chooses to deny what lies ahead of him, 5 He asks, “When will be the Day of Resurrection?” 6 When the eye is bewildered, 7 And the moon shall be ecliped. 8 And the sun and the moon are joined, 9 upon that day man shall say, 'Whither to flee?' 10 By no means! NO refuge! 11 For on that Day the refuge shall be to your Lord. 12 That Day will Man be told (all) that he put forward, and all that he put back. 13 nay, man shall be a clear proof against himself, 14 Though he puts forth his excuses. 15 Do not move your tongue with it to make haste with it, 16 Verily upon us is the collecting thereof and the reciting thereof. 17 So when We have read it, you should thereupon follow what is read. 18 Then indeed, to explain its details to you is upon Us. 19 Nay, (ye men!) but ye love the fleeting life, 20 And leave the Hereafter. 21 Countenances on that Day shall be resplendent, 22 gazing towards their Lord. 23 And on that Day there shall be scowling faces, 24 Knowing that they will be subjected to a torment that breaks the backs. 25 Yes indeed, when the soul will reach up to the throat. 26 and the angels say, "Who will take away his soul, 27 And he knoweth that it is the parting; 28 And one leg will be joined with another: 29 The drive will be, on that Day, to your Lord (Allah)! 30
