The News (Al-Naba')
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ About what are they asking one another? 1 About the awesome tiding [of resurrection,] 2 About which they differ? 3 (What they think is certainly despicable!). They will soon come to know (the reality). 4 Nay, again, but they will come to know! 5 Have We not made the earth as a wide expanse, 6 and the mountains [its] pegs? 7 And We created you in pairs, 8 And made your sleep a rest. 9 And made the night as clothing 10 and made the day [a symbol of] life. 11 And We have built above you seven strong ones, 12 And We have set therein lamps glowing. 13 And We sent down rain from water-laden clouds pouring in torrents 14 Thereby to produce grain and plant, 15 and gardens dense with foliage. 16 Surely the Day of Judgement has an appointed time; 17 The day on which the trumpet shall be blown so you shall come forth in hosts, 18 And the heaven is opened and becometh as gates, 19 And the hills are set in motion and become as a mirage. 20 Indeed, Hell has been lying in wait 21 The destination of the rebellious. 22 They will abide therein for ages, 23 They will not taste therein cool or any drink. 24 Except hot boiling water and hot pus discharged from the people of hell. 25 for a suitable recompense. 26 for they never expected to be called to account, 27 They called Our revelations false with strong denial. 28 and everything We have numbered in a Book. 29 So taste you (the results of your evil actions); no increase shall We give you, except in torment. 30
