The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
(Muhammad), read in the name of your Lord who created (all things). 1 created the human from a (blood) clot. 2 Recite thou: And thy Lord is the Most Bounteous, 3 The One Who taught to write with the pen. 4 Taught man what he did not know. 5 Indeed, surely the human is very insolent 6 Because he considers himself self-sufficient. 7 Surely unto thy Lord is the Returning. 8 What thinkest thou? He who forbids 9 a servant of Ours from prayer? 10 Have you thought, if he had been on guidance 11 and enjoins piety? 12 What thinkest thou? If he cries lies, and turns away - 13 Does he not know that Allah sees? 14 Nay! If he (Abu Jahl) ceases not, We will catch him by the forelock, 15 By the lying, the sinful forelock. 16 Let him call on his associates for help 17 We too shall summon the guards of Hell. 18 By no means! Obey not thou him. Continue to adore, and continue to draw nigh. ۩ 19
Almighty God's Truth.
