Surely the people of al-Hijr also rejected the Messengers, calling them liars. 80 We brought them Our signs, and they turned away from them. 81 They would carve secure houses out of the mountains. 82 Then the shout took hold of them in the early morn. 83 All that they had acquired was of no avail to them. 84 And We have not created the heavens and the earth and all that is between them, except with the Truth; and indeed the Last Day will come, therefore (O dear Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him), forbear graciously. 85 Verify thy Lord! He is the Great Creator, the Knower. 86 And We have bestowed upon thee the Seven Oft-repeated (verses) and the Grand Qur'an. 87 Cast not thine eyes toward that which We have let classes of them to enjoy; and grieve not over them, and lower thy wing unto the believers. 88 And say: "I am indeed a plain warner." 89 Even as We sent down on the dividers 90 (So also on such) as have made Qur'an into shreds (as they please). 91 So by your Lord, We will surely question them all 92 For that which they have been working. 93 Proclaim then, what you are commanded and turn away from the unbelievers. 94 We will, surely, suffice you against those who mock, 95 Who set up along with Allah another god; presently they shall know. 96 And surely We know that your breast straitens at what they say; 97 So glorify the praises of your Lord and be of those who prostrate themselves (to Him). 98 And serve your Lord until there comes to you that which is certain. 99
