Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the winds (or angels or the Messengers of Allah) sent forth one after another. 1 storming tempestuously 2 Then by oath of those that lift and carry. 3 By those who winnow with a winnowing, 4 And by the angels that bring the revelations to the Messengers, 5 To complete the argument or to warn. 6 Most surely what you are threatened with must come to pass. 7 When the stars are extinguished, 8 And when the sky is split apart. 9 The mountains will be blown away as dust. 10 And when the messengers' time has come... 11 For what Day are these signs postponed? 12 To the day of decision. 13 And what shall teach thee what is the Day of Decision? 14 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 15 Did We not destroy the ancients, 16 Thereafter We shall cause to follow them the latter ones. 17 Thus do We deal with the sinful ones. 18 Woe on that day unto the beliers! 19 Did We not create you from a base fluid 20 which We then let remain in [the womb's] firm keeping 21 for an appointed time? 22 We determined; excellent determiners are We. 23 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 24 Have We not made the earth to draw together to itself, 25 for both the living and the dead? 26 Have We not placed high mountains upon it and given you fresh water to drink? 27 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 28 Proceed now towards that which you were wont to deny as false; 29 Depart unto the shadow falling threefold, 30 Neither shady nor protecting against the blazing Fire. 31 It will throw out sparks as logs of wood 32 As though they were camels yellow tawny. 33 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 34 that Day on which they will not [be able to] utter a word, 35 Nor will it be permitted for them to make an excuse. 36 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 37 that Day of Distinction [between the true and the false, when they will be told]: "We have brought you together with those [sinners] of olden times; 38 So if you have a plot, use it against Me (Allah)! 39 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 40
