The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By those that pluck out vehemently 1 And those who undo the bonds gently, 2 and by [the clouds] that swim serenely and 3 And who quickly present themselves. 4 And those who arrange [each] matter, 5 On the day when the trembling one will tremble. The disbelievers will certainly taste the punishment. 6 to be followed by further [convulsions], 7 hearts will throb on that Day 8 While eyes are downcast 9 They say (now): "What! shall we indeed be returned to (our) former state? 10 What! when we are rotten bones? 11 They say: "It would, in that case, be a return with loss!" 12 It will only be a single blast, 13 to bring them out of their graves and back to life on the earth's surface. 14 HAS THE STORY of Moses ever come within thy ken. 15 When his Lord called to him in the sacred valley of Tuwa, 16 Go to Fir'aun (Pharaoh), verily, he has transgressed all bounds (in crimes, sins, polytheism, disbelief, etc.). 17 Then say: Have you (a desire) to purify yourself: 18 And I may guide you to your Lord, so that you may fear.'" 19 And he showed him the greatest sign, 20 But (Pharaoh) rejected it and disobeyed (guidance); 21 Then he turned away, deliberating, 22 and gathered his people together 23 Saying, "I am your Lord, Most High". 24 So Allah seized him (and made him) an example for the after (life) and for the former. 25 Lo! herein is indeed a lesson for him who feareth. 26
