And when thy Lord called Moses, saying: Go unto the wrongdoing folk, 10 The people of Fir'awn; fear they Me not? 11 He said, 'My Lord, I fear they will cry me lies, 12 My breast is constricted and my tongue is not fluent, so endow Messengership on Aaron. 13 They hold a sin against me, and I fear that they will kill me' 14 He said: By no means, so go you both with Our signs; surely We are with you, hearing; 15 And go, both of you, unto Pharaoh and say, 'Behold, we bear a message from the Sustainer of all the worlds: 16 [Commanded to say], "Send with us the Children of Israel."'" 17 [Fir'aun (Pharaoh)] said [to Musa (Moses)]: "Did we not bring you up among us as a child? And you did dwell many years of your life with us. 18 Yet you committed the deed you did, surely you are one of the ingrates." 19 He (Moses) replied: 'Indeed, I did that when I was among those who stray. 20 “I therefore went away from you as I feared you – so my Lord commanded me and appointed me as one of the Noble Messengers.” 21 Now this is the favour that you tauntingly remind me of: that you enslaved the Children of Israel!" 22 Pharaoh said, "What is this: Lord of the Universe?" 23 Moses answered: "The Lord of the heavens and the earth and of all that is between them, if you were only to believe." 24 Said Firaun to those around him, “Are you not listening with attention?” 25 He said: Your Lord and the Lord of your fathers. 26 Pharaoh said, "This messenger who has been sent to you is surely possessed!" 27 [Moses] said, "Lord of the east and the west and that between them, if you were to reason." 28 Said he: If you will take a god besides me, I will most certainly make you one of the imprisoned. 29 (Moses) said: "Even if I showed you something clear (and) convincing?" 30 (Pharaoh) said: "Show it then, if thou tellest the truth!" 31 Then he cast down his staff, and lo! it was a serpent manifest. 32 And he drew out his hand, and it appeared [shining] white to the beholders. 33
