Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By the dipersing winds that disperse. 1 And the clouds bearing a load. 2 by the ships which smoothly sail on the oceans, 3 Then by oath of those which distribute by the command. 4 What you are promised is certainly true: 5 And verily Judgment and Justice must indeed come to pass. 6 By the heaven full of paths. 7 surely you are deeply at variance [as to what to believe] -- 8 Through which are deluded (away from the Truth) such as would be deluded. 9 They but destroy themselves, they who are given to guessing at what they cannot ascertain 10 and who wander in the abyss of confusion. 11 They ask: when is the Day of Requital coming? 12 [It is] the Day they will be tormented over the Fire 13 "Taste you your trial (burning)! This is what you used to ask to be hastened!" 14 Lo! those who keep from evil will dwell amid gardens and watersprings, 15 receiving their reward from their Lord. They had been righteous people before the Day of Judgment. 16 Little of the night they were wont to slumber. 17 And ere the dawning of each day would seek forgiveness, 18 and sharing their possessions with the beggars and the deprived. 19 And on the earth are signs for those who have Faith with certainty, 20 there are signs for firm believers. Do you not see then? 21 And in the heaven is your provision, and that which you are promised. 22 By the Lord of the heavens and the earth, this is certainly true even as you speak. 23
