▼ 54 The Moon
Al-Qamar 3 of 3
Surely warners came to the people of Pharaoh. 41 They rejected all Our communications, so We overtook them after the manner of a Mighty, Powerful One. 42 Are you disbelievers mightier than those of the nations which We destroyed before or have you received amnesty through the ancient Scriptures? 43 Or do they say: "We acting together can defend ourselves"? 44 Most certainly their gatherings shall be routed, and they will turn their backs. 45 Nay, the Hour (of Judgment) is the time promised them (for their full recompense): And that Hour will be most grievous and most bitter. 46 The evil-doers are indeed sunk in error and folly -- 47 The Day they will be dragged in the Fire on their faces (it will be said to them): "Taste you the touch of Hell!" 48 Verily, all things have We created in proportion and measure. 49 It takes only a single command from Us (to bring the Day of Judgment) and that can be achieved within the twinkling of an eye. 50 We did indeed destroy many like you. Is there, then, any who will heed? 51 All their deeds are recorded in the Scrolls; 52 And everything, small and great, hath been written down. 53 Surely the godfearing shall dwell amid gardens and a river 54 in the seat of truth with an all-powerful sovereign. 55
