The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By the night when it envelopeth, 1 by the day when it appears radiant, 2 and by the creation of the male and the female. 3 Certainly, your efforts and deeds are diverse (different in aims and purposes); 4 As for him who gives (in charity) and keeps his duty to Allah and fears Him, 5 And believeth in goodness; 6 observe piety, and believe in receiving rewards from God. 7 But as for him who is a miser, and self-sufficient, 8 And gives the lie to the best,- 9 For him We shall ease the way of adversity, 10 nor will his wealth profit him when he falls [into the pit]. 11 It is indeed for Us to show the way, 12 and to Us belong the Last and the First. 13 I have now warned you of the Blazing Fire, 14 None will [enter to] burn therein except the most wretched one. 15 who denied [the truth], and turned away. 16 He will be far away from the most pious. (The first Caliph S. Abu Bakr Siddiq) 17 Who giveth away his substance that he may be cleansed, 18 They do not expect any reward 19 seeking only the Face of his Lord, the Most High, 20 and such, indeed, shall in time be well-pleased. 21
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
