Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
CONSIDER the winds that scatter the dust far and wide, 1 and those that bear the burden [of the rain], 2 and those that speed along with gentle ease, 3 And those who distribute (it) by command, 4 surely what you are being warned against is true, 5 And verily, the Recompense is sure to happen. 6 By the heaven containing pathways, 7 surely you are at variance (about the Hereafter); 8 Turned aside therefrom (i.e. from Muhammad SAW and the Quran) is he who is turned aside (by the Decree and Preordainment of Allah). 9 Cursed be the liars, 10 who are dazed in perplexity 11 They ask, "When will the Day of Judgement come?" 12 (It is) the day on which they shall be tried at the fire. 13 (and be told): “Taste your ordeal! This is what you were seeking to hasten.” 14 As for the God-fearing, they shall be in the midst of gardens and fountains, 15 Taking what their Lord gives them; surely they were before that, the doers of good. 16 They used to sleep but little of the night, 17 And in the dawns they prayed for forgiveness. 18 And in their wealth and possessions (was remembered) the right of the (needy,) him who asked, and him who (for some reason) was prevented (from asking). 19 And in the earth there are signs for those who are sure, 20 And also in your ownselves. Will you not then see? 21 In the sky is your provision and that which you are promised. 22 So by the Lord of heaven and earth, it is as surely true as that you have speech. 23
