Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
26 verses, revealed in Mecca after Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat) before The Cave (Al-Kahf)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Have you received the news of the Enveloper? 1 On that day (many) faces will be downcast, 2 troubled and tired as a result of their deeds in the past. 3 The while they enter the Blazing Fire,- 4 They will be given drink from a boiling spring. 5 No food shall be theirs save bitter thorn, 6 that will neither nourish nor satisfy their hunger. 7 Faces on that Day shall be delighted, 8 Glad with their endeavour (for their good deeds which they did in this world, along with the true Faith of Islamic Monotheism). 9 In a high Garden. 10 where they will hear no idle talk. 11 In it there shall be a flowing spring, 12 Therein will be thrones raised high, 13 And cups put in place 14 And cushions set in a row, 15 and carpets spread out. 16 Do they not look at the Camels, how they are made?- 17 and on the sky, how it is raised aloft, 18 And the mountains how they have been established? 19 And the earth: how it was spread out? 20 Therefore do remind, for you are only a reminder. 21 You are not a warden over them, 22 But whoever turns back and disbelieves, 23 God shall chastise him with the greatest chastisement. 24 Indeed only towards Us is their return 25 then upon Us shall rest their reckoning. 26
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
