Al-Hijjr 6 of 6
And the people of the Hijr (rocks) denied the Noble Messengers. 80 And though We had given them Our signs they turned away from them. 81 They carved out dwellings in the mountains, and lived in security -- 82 But the (mighty) Blast seized them of a morning, 83 and of no avail to them was all [the power] that they had acquired. 84 We created not the heavens, the earth, and all between them, but for just ends. And the Hour is surely coming (when this will be manifest). So overlook (any human faults) with gracious forgiveness. 85 verily, thy Sustainer is the all-knowing Creator of all things! 86 We have indeed given you the seven oft-repeated (examples), and the majestic Qur'an. 87 Strain not thine eyes. (Wistfully) at what We have bestowed on certain classes of them, nor grieve over them: but lower thy wing (in gentleness) to the believers. 88 and say, "I am, indeed, a plain warner," 89 (We have given you the Quran) as We had given (the Bible) to those who divided themselves into groups 90 who have broken the Koran into fragments. 91 Them, by thy Lord, We shall question, every one, 92 About all what they used to do. 93 So shout that thou art commanded and turn thou away from the idolaters. 94 Surely We suffice to deal with those who scoff at you, 95 and those who set up other gods with Allah, indeed, they will soon know. 96 And surely We know that your breast straitens at what they say; 97 But hymn the praise of thy Lord, and be of those who make prostration (unto Him). 98 And worship your Lord until there comes unto you the certainty (i.e. death). 99

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
