In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
Those who disbelieve and turn (men) from the way of Allah, He rendereth their actions vain. 1 And those who believe and do righteous deeds and believe in what has been sent down upon Muhammad - and it is the truth from their Lord - He will remove from them their misdeeds and amend their condition. 2 This is because the unbelievers follow falsehood while the believers follow the truth from their Lord. As such Allah sets forth for people their examples. 3 So when you confront the disbelievers, strike at their necks; until when you have slain them in plenty, tie them up firmly; then after that, you may either release them as a favour or take ransom, until the war lays down its ordeal; this is it; and had Allah willed He Himself could have taken revenge from them, but this is to test some of you with others; and Allah will surely never waste the deeds of those who were killed in His way. 4 He will guide them and improve their state, 5 And He shall make them enter the Garden; He shall have made it known unto them. 6 O you who believe! if you help (the cause of) Allah, He will help you and make firm your feet. 7 The fate of the disbelievers will be to stumble and their deeds will have no virtuous results; 8 That is because they disliked what Allah revealed, so He rendered worthless their deeds. 9 ۞ So did they not travel in the land to see what sort of fate befell those who preceded them? Allah poured ruin upon them; and for the disbelievers are several like it. 10 That is because Allah is the protector of those who have believed and because the disbelievers have no protector. 11
