The Mountain (Al-Toor)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the mount 1 And the Book written 2 On an open record. 3 by the House inhabited 4 By the Canopy Raised High; 5 And the sea set aflame. 6 Verily, the Doom of thy Lord will indeed come to pass;- 7 there is no one who could avert it, 8 On the Day whereon the heaven will shake with an awful shaking. 9 and the mountains move, moving. 10 On that Day woe to those who belied 11 Who are playing in falsehood. 12 the day when they shall be pitched into the fire of Gehenna: 13 'This is the fire that you cried lies to! 14 Is this, then, any feat of magic or are you unable to see? 15 Burn in its heat. It is all the same for you whether you exercise patience or not; This is the recompense for your deeds". 16 Those who fear God and follow the straight path will surely be in gardens and in bliss, 17 rejoicing in whatever their Lord has given them. Their Lord has saved them from the torment of the Fire, 18 (And it is said unto them): Eat and drink in health (as a reward) for what ye used to do, 19 They will recline (with ease) on Thrones (of dignity) arranged in ranks; and We shall join them to Companions, with beautiful big and lustrous eyes. 20 And as for those who have attained to faith and whose offspring will have followed them in faith, We shall unite them with their offspring; and We shall not let aught of their deeds go to waste: [but] every human being will be held in pledge for whatever he has earned. 21 And We shall bestow on them fruit and meat in abundance - whatever they may desire: 22 while they pass therein a cup one to another wherein is no idle talk, no cause of sin, 23 ۞ They will be served by youths who will be as beautiful as pearls. 24 They will converse with one another, putting questions to each other, 25 Saying: "We were also once full of fear at home. 26 "But Allah has been gracious to us, and has saved us from the torment of the Fire. 27 Formerly we had always prayed to Him. Surely He is Most Benign, Most Compassionate.” 28
