The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By the heaven with its impregnable castles; 1 by the promised day, 2 And by oath of the day that is a witness and by oath of a day in which the people present themselves. 3 Accursed be the People of the Ditch! 4 with fire abounding in fuel, 5 Lo! [With glee do] they contemplate that [fire,] 6 witnessing what they were doing. 7 whom they hated for no other reason than that they believed in God, the Almighty, the Praiseworthy, 8 To whom belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth. And Allah, over all things, is Witness. 9 Indeed, those who have tortured the believing men and believing women and then have not repented will have the punishment of Hell, and they will have the punishment of the Burning Fire. 10 As for the righteously striving believers, they will live in Paradise wherein streams flow. This is the greatest triumph. 11 Verily the grip of thine Lord is severe. 12 it is He who begins and repeats [His creation], 13 And He is the Forgiving, and the Loving. 14 Master of the Honourable Throne. 15 Executor of His own will. 16 Hath there come unto thee the story of the hosts 17 of the Pharaoh and Thamud? 18 Yet the unbelievers still belie, 19 And Allah encompasses them on every side. 20 Nay, this is a Glorious Qur'an, 21 (Inscribed) in Al-Lauh Al-Mahfuz (The Preserved Tablet)! 22
