Recite unto them the story of Abraham: 69 when he said to his father and his people, 'What do you serve?' 70 They said: we worship idols, and we are unto them ever devoted 71 He said: "Do they listen to you when ye call (on them)?" 72 Do they help or harm you?" 73 They said: Nay, but we found our fathers acting on this wise. 74 He said, “Do you see these – (the idols) whom you worship?” 75 "Ye and your fathers before you?- 76 are my enemies? Not so the Lord of the Universe. 77 who created me, and Himself guides me, 78 He who gives me food and drink; 79 "And when I am ill, it is He Who cures me; 80 "Who will cause me to die, and then to life (again); 81 And who I aspire that He will forgive me my sin on the Day of Recompense." 82 My Lord, give me Judgment, and join me with the righteous, 83 And give unto me a good report in later generations. 84 and place me among those who shall inherit the garden of bliss! 85 Forgive me and my father: He was surely among those who went astray. 86 And do not disgrace me on the Day they are [all] resurrected - 87 The day when wealth and sons avail not (any man) 88 Except him who brings to Allah a clean heart [clean from Shirk (polytheism) and Nifaq (hypocrisy)]. 89 And the Garden shall be brought nigh to the God-fearing. 90 And Hell is brought near to the perverse' 91 And it will be said to them, “Where are those whom you used to worship?” 92 "Instead of Allah? Can they help you or (even) help themselves?" 93 Then they shall be hurled therein, they and the seduced ones. 94 and the hosts of Iblis - all together. 95 "Quarrelling therein with each other, 96 "By Allah, we were indeed in manifest error 97 when we considered you equal to the Lord of the Universe. 98 Only the sinful ones made us go astray. 99 Now we have none to intercede for us, 100 no loyal friend. 101 "'Now if we only had a chance of return we shall truly be of those who believe!'" 102 Surely, in that there is a sign, yet most of them do not believe. 103 And verily, your Lord! He is truly the All-Mighty, the Most Merciful. 104
