The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By those that pluck out vehemently 1 And who softly release the soul. (Of the believer) 2 By the angels who glide swimmingly, 3 And then they speed with foremost speed. 4 and by those who regulate events. 5 The day the convulsive (first blast) shatters convulsively 6 There will follow it the subsequent [one]. 7 Hearts, that Day, will tremble, 8 While eyes are downcast 9 They are [presently] saying, "Will we indeed be returned to [our] former state [of life]? 10 even after we have turned into decayed bones?" 11 and they say, "That indeed would be a losing return." 12 However, it will only take a single blast 13 to bring them out of their graves and back to life on the earth's surface. 14 HAS THE STORY of Moses ever come within thy ken. 15 When his Lord called him in the holy valley of Tuwa. 16 That “Go to Firaun – he has rebelled.” 17 Then say: Have you (a desire) to purify yourself: 18 And that I guide you to your Lord, so you should fear Him? 19 So he showed him the greater sign; 20 but he denied it and refused [the faith]. 21 Then he turned away in a hurry, 22 and gathered his people together 23 and said, "I am your Lord All-Highest!" 24 Thereupon Allah seized him for the chastisement of the World to Come as well as of the present. 25 Most surely there is in this a lesson to him who fears. 26
