The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
When the sun shall be darkened, 1 And when the stars shall dart down, 2 And when the mountains shall made to pass away; 3 the young barren camels are abandoned, 4 when the savage beasts are gathered 5 When the oceans boil over with a swell; 6 And when the souls are paired 7 and when the female infant buried alive is asked 8 for what offence was she killed? 9 When the ledgers are laid open, 10 The curtain drawn back from the skies, 11 when Hell is set ablaze, 12 And when the Garden is brought near;- 13 then every soul will discover the consequence of its deeds. 14 So verily, I swear by the planets that recede (i.e. disappear during the day and appear during the night). 15 Those that run [their courses] and disappear - 16 And by the night as it closes in 17 and the morn as it softly breathes: 18 Verily this is the word of a noble message-bearer; 19 one mighty and held in honour with the Lord of the Throne; 20 there he is obeyed and held trustworthy. 21 Your companion (Muhammad) does not suffer from any mental illness 22 Surely he beheld Him on the clear horizon. 23 He is not avid of the Unseen. 24 Nor is this the utterance of a devil worthy to be stoned. 25 So where are you going? 26 Verily this is no less than a Message to (all) the Worlds: 27 Unto whomsoever of you willeth to walk straight. 28 And ye shall not will unless it be that Allah, the Lord of the worlds, willeth. 29
