A 'araaf (Al-A 'araaf)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ Alif. Lam. Mim. Sad. 1 A book has been revealed to you, (Muhammad). You should not hesitate to convey its warning and its good advice to the believers. 2 Follow what has been sent down to you by your Lord and do not follow any protector other than Him. How seldom you take heed. 3 How many towns We have destroyed. Our scourge fell upon them by night or at midday when they were resting: 4 Therefore they uttered nothing when Our punishment came to them, except that they said, “Indeed we were the unjust.” 5 Then We will surely question those to whom were the messengers sent, and We will surely question the sent ones. 6 We will tell them with absolute certainty (what they had done) for We had never been absent from them (during their lifetime). 7 On that Day, the weighing is true. He whose scales are heavy those are the prosperers, 8 and he whose scales are light -- they have lost their soul for wronging Our signs. 9 And We have certainly established you upon the earth and made for you therein ways of livelihood. Little are you grateful. 10
