The Human (Al-Insan)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
Hath there come upon man (ever) any period of time in which he was a thing unremembered? 1 Verily We created man out of a drop of intermingled sperm so that We might try him, and We therefore endowed him with hearing and sight. 2 We have indeed shown him the way – whether he is grateful or ingrate. 3 For the unbelievers, We have kept ready chains and fetters and a Blazing Fire. 4 Surely the devotees will drink cups flavoured with palm blossoms 5 A fountain from which the servants of Allah shall drink; they make it to flow a (goodly) flowing forth. 6 they who keep their vows and fear a Day whose evil is spread; 7 And out of His love, they give food to the needy, the orphan and the prisoner. 8 They say to them, “We give you food, only for the sake of Allah – we do not seek any reward or thanks from you.” 9 Truly, we fear from our Lord a woefully grim Day." 10 So Allah saved them from the evil of that Day, and gave them Nadratan (a light of beauty) and joy. 11 and will reward them for their steadfastness with Paradise and robes of silk. 12 Reclining therein on raised thrones, they will see there neither the excessive heat of the sun, nor the excessive bitter cold, (as in Paradise there is no sun and no moon). 13 the shading branches of trees will come down low over them, and their clusters of fruit, will hang down where they are the easiest to reach. 14 Goblets of silver are brought round for them, and beakers (as) of glass 15 Crystal-clear, made of silver: they will determine the measure thereof (according to their wishes). 16 And therein they shall be given to drink of a cup whereof the admixture will be ginger. 17 From a fountain therein, named Salsabil. 18 ۞ And round about them will (serve) youths of perpetual (freshness): If thou seest them, thou wouldst think them scattered Pearls. 19 And when you look there [in Paradise], you will see pleasure and great dominion. 20 In it they adorn clothes of fine green silk and gold embroidery; and they are given silver bracelets to wear; and their Lord gave them pure wine to drink. 21 "Verily this is a Reward for you, and your Endeavour is accepted and recognised." 22
