The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
When the sunlight is rolled up. 1 And when the stars fall, dispersing, 2 And when the hills are moved, 3 The ten-month pregnant female camels are abandoned, 4 And when the wild beasts are gathered 5 and when the seas are set on fire, 6 souls are reunited with their bodies, 7 And when the girl [who was] buried alive is asked 8 For what sin she was slain. 9 and when the scrolls of (men's) deeds shall be unfolded, 10 The curtain drawn back from the skies, 11 And when Hellfire is set ablaze 12 And when the Garden is brought near;- 13 Then every soul shall know that which it hath presented. 14 But nay! I swear by the stars, 15 The planets withdrawing into themselves, 16 and the night that falls, 17 and the morning when it extends, 18 Verily this is the word of a most honourable Messenger, 19 Mighty, established in the presence of the Lord of the Throne, 20 Obeyed one; then trustworthy. 21 And your comrade is not mad. 22 And without doubt he saw him in the clear horizon. 23 And this Prophet is not miserly upon the hidden. (Allah gave the knowledge of the hidden to the Holy Prophet – peace and blessings be upon him.) 24 Nor is this the word of a stoned satan. 25 Where then are you going? 26 It is not except a reminder to the worlds 27 to every one of you who wishes to tread the straight path. 28 But ye shall not will except as Allah wills,- the Cherisher of the Worlds. 29
