And recall what time thy Lord called unto Musa, saying: go thou unto the wrong-doing people. 10 The people of Firon: Will they not guard (against evil)? 11 He said: My Lord! Lo! I fear that they will deny me, 12 I feel nervous and my tongue is not fluent, so send Aaron with me. 13 "And (further), they have a charge of crime against me; and I fear they may slay me." 14 Allah said: "By no means! proceed then, both of you, with Our Signs; We are with you, and will listen (to your call). 15 And go, both of you, unto Pharaoh and say, 'Behold, we bear a message from the Sustainer of all the worlds: 16 (Saying): Let the Children of Israel go with us. 17 (Firon) said: Did we not bring you up as a child among us, and you tarried among us for (many) years of your life? 18 And yet thou didst commit that [heinous] deed of thine, and [hast thus shown that] thou art one of the ingrate!" 19 Moses replied: "I committed that act erringly. 20 So I fled from you when I feared you. Then my Lord granted me wisdom and prophethood and appointed me [as one] of the messengers. 21 And is it a favor of which you remind me that you have enslaved the children of Israel? 22 Pharaoh said: "And what is the 'Lord and Cherisher of the worlds'?" 23 He said, 'The Lord of the heavens and earth, and what between them is, if you have faith.' 24 Said he to those about him, 'Do you not hear?' 25 He said, 'Your Lord and the Lord of your fathers, the ancients.' 26 Fir'awn said: verily your apostle who hath been sent unto you is mad. 27 He said: Lord of the east and the west and whatsoever is in-between, if ye understand. 28 (Pharaoh) said: "If thou dost put forward any god other than me, I will certainly put thee in prison!" 29 He said: Even though I show thee something plain? 30 Fir'awn said: forth with it then, if thou art of the truth-tellers. 31 So Moses threw down his staff and suddenly it appeared as a serpent, plainly visible. 32 Then he uncovered his hand and it was sheer white to the onlookers. 33
