The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By the aligners (angels) aligning. 1 And those who drive [the clouds] 2 By those (angels) who bring the Book and the Quran from Allah to mankind [Tafsir Ibn Kathir]. 3 surely, your God is One, 4 The Lord of the heavens and the earth and all that lies between them, and the Lord of the Easts. 5 Verily We! We have adorned the nearest heaven with an adornment: the stars. 6 And (there is) a safeguard against every rebellious Shaitan. 7 So that they are not able to listen to the angels of higher (echelons), and are pelted from all sides 8 and are repelled. Theirs is an unceasing chastisement. 9 Except him who snatches off but once, then there follows him a brightly shining flame. 10 Then inquire of them, [O Muhammad], "Are they a stronger [or more difficult] creation or those [others] We have created?" Indeed, We created men from sticky clay. 11 (Muhammad), you will be surprised that they still mock (God's revelations). 12 And when they are reminded, they mind not, 13 And, when they see a Sign, turn it to mockery, 14 and say: "This is clearly nothing but [a mortal's] spellbinding eloquence! 15 "When we are dead and have become dust and bones, shall we (then) verily be resurrected? 16 What, and our forefathers, the ancients' 17 Say, "You will certainly be brought back to life in disgrace". 18 It shall be but one shout, lo! they shall be staring. 19 And say: "Ah woe! This is the Day of Reckoning." 20 This is the Day of Decision which you belied. 21
