The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ When the Occurrence occurs, 1 Then will no (soul) entertain falsehood concerning its coming. 2 Abasing (one party), exalting (the other), 3 When the earth will tremble, shivering. 4 and the mountains will crumble 5 So that they will become floating dust particles. 6 And you shall be three sorts. 7 Thus, there shall be such as will have attained to what is right: oh, how [happy] will be they who have attained to what is right! 8 And (then) those on the left hand; what of those on the left hand? 9 As for the Foremost, they will be the foremost! 10 (The foremost ones) will be the nearest ones to God 11 In gardens of tranquility; 12 A multitude of those of old 13 but only a few from the later generations. 14 on lavish couches 15 Reclining on them, facing one another. 16 Immortal youths will wait upon them 17 With goblets and ewers and a cup of limpid drink. 18 Their heads shall not ache with it, nor shall they lose their senses. 19 And with fruit from that which they choose. 20 and any flesh of fowl that they desire. 21 And (there will be) Companions with beautiful, big, and lustrous eyes,- 22 like hidden pearls, 23 shall be their recompense for their deeds. 24 There they shall hear no idle talk nor any sinful speech. 25 but only the saying: 'Peace, Peace' 26 As for the people of the right hand, how happy they will be! 27 They will live amid the thornless lot trees 28 and clustered bananas, 29 And in everlasting shade. 30 and flowing water 31 And abundant fruit, 32 undiminished and never denied 33 And exalted thrones. 34 Surely We have made them to grow into a (new) growth, 35 And made them virgins, 36 intensely loving and of matching age. 37 For those on the right hand; 38
