Noah (Nooh)
28 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Bee (Al-nahl) before Abraham (Ibrahim)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
Verily We! We sent Nuh unto his people saying: warn thy people ere there come unto them torment afflictive. 1 He said, "O my people, indeed I am to you a clear warner, 2 That you should worship God and fear Him, and follow me 3 He will forgive you your sins and respite you till an appointed term. When the term of Allah arrives it cannot be deferred; if you but knew' 4 He said, "My Lord! I have called my people night and day 5 "But my call only increases (their) flight (from the Right). 6 “And whenever I called them, so that You may forgive them, they always thrust their fingers into their ears, and covered themselves with their clothes, and remained stubborn and were extremely haughty.” 7 "I preached to them aloud, in public. 8 And declared to them in public and in private, 9 and I said: "'Ask your Sustainer to forgive you your sins - for, verily, He is all-forgiving! 10 ‘He will send down abundant rain for you from the sky.’ 11 and will provide you with wealth and children, and will bestow upon you gardens and rivers. 12 What is [the matter] with you that you do not attribute to Allah [due] grandeur 13 Knowing that He has created you by various stages? 14 Do you not see how Allah has created the seven heavens, one above another, 15 and placed therein the moon as a light and the sun as a torch. 16 "'And God has caused you to grow out of the earth in [gradual] growth; and thereafter He will return you to it [in death]: 17 He will make you return to it and then take you out of it again. 18 And Allah has made for you the earth wide spread (an expanse). 19 so that you might walk thereon on spacious paths.'" 20

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
