Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
CONSIDER these [messages,] sent forth in waves 1 and then storming on with a tempest's force, 2 By the spreading winds spreading. 3 And those that distinguish distinctly, 4 Then I swear by the angels who bring down the revelation, 5 excusing or warning, 6 Surely, what you are promised must come to pass. 7 When the stars shall be extinguished, 8 The heavens split asunder, 9 And when the mountains are blown away, 10 and when the Messengers' time is set 11 For what day is it timed? 12 one will be told, "To the Day of Distinction". 13 And what knowest thou what the Day of Decision is? 14 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 15 Did We not destroy the ancients 16 Thereafter We shall cause to follow them the latter ones. 17 So We serve the sinners. 18 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 19 Did We not create you from a humble fluid, 20 And We placed it in a firm lodging 21 for a term pre-ordained? 22 So We proportion it-- how well are We at proportioning (things). 23 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 24 Have We not made the earth a receptacle, 25 for the living and the dead, 26 And placed in it lofty and broad stablisers, and gave you sweet water to drink? 27 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 28 "Go to what you used to deny; 29 Depart unto the shadow falling threefold, 30 which neither gives shade nor protects one from the flames. 31 it indeed throws up sparks like castles, 32 As though they were camels yellow tawny. 33 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 34 This is a Day they will not speak, 35 nor shall they be permitted to offer excuses. 36 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 37 This is the Day of Decision, We have brought you and the men of old together. 38 If now ye have any wit, outwit Me. 39 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 40
