The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
By the Night as it conceals (the light); 1 By the day when it appeareth in glory, 2 And [by] He who created the male and female, 3 surely your striving is to diverse ends. 4 For him that gives and fears (Allah) 5 and confirms the reward most fair, 6 We shall ease the way of fortune for him. 7 But as for one who is miserly and unheeding, 8 And denied the best matter, 9 We shall facilitate for him the way to Hardship, 10 And his wealth will not avail him when he perishes. 11 Surely, it is for Us to provide guidance -- 12 and to Us belong the hereafter and the worldly life. 13 I have warned you about the fierce blazing fire 14 Which only the most wretched must endure, 15 Who denied (the truth) and turned away. 16 But the God-fearing shall be kept away from it, 17 he that spends his possessions [on others] so that he might grow in purity 18 not as payment for any favours that he received, 19 but only to seek the good pleasure of his Lord Most High. 20 And presently he shall become well pleased. 21
True are the words of God the Almighty.

كيف تعمل منظومة تمارين الحفظ؟ عند أدنى مستوى 0، تكون كل الكلمات ظاهرة. بينما يُخفي أعلى مستوى 9 كل الكلمات. فكيف تعمل المستويات المتوسطة، مثل 3، على سبيل المثال؟ قد تعتقد بأن المنظومة تخفي 3 من كل تسع كلمات بدقة. ليس تماما! في المستوى 3، لكل كلمة فرصة اختفاء بنسبة 3 من 9، و6 من 9 لتكون ظاهرة. بمعنى آخر، من الممكن، ولكن باحتمال شبة معدوم، أن تكون جميع كلمات المستوى 3 مخفية، أو أن تكون جميعها ظاهرة! وكذلك أيضًا، ففي المستويات المتوسطة، وبما يتناسب مع مستوى الصعوبة، يمكن أن تكون المخابئ غير كاملة أو شفافة جزئيًا بحيث تظهر الكلمات جزئيًا تحتها.
How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
