By the heaven, holding the big stars. 1 And by the Promised Day (i.e. the Day of Resurrection); 2 And by oath of the day that is a witness and by oath of a day in which the people present themselves. 3 Cursed were the people of the ditch (the story of the Boy and the King). 4 Of the fuel-fed fire, 5 while they sat around it, 6 And they were witnesses of what they did with the believers. 7 And what did they dislike from the Muslims, except that the Muslims accepted faith in Allah the Most Honourable, the Most Praiseworthy? 8 Whose is the kingdom of the heavens and the earth; and Allah is a Witness of all things. 9 Those who persecuted the believing men and women and never repented, there is for them the punishment of Gehenna (Hell), and for them the punishment of the burning. 10 Indeed, those who have believed and done righteous deeds will have gardens beneath which rivers flow. That is the great attainment. 11 Verily the grip of thine Lord is severe. 12 Indeed it is He Who initiates and redoes. 13 And He alone is truly-forgiving, all-embracing in His love, 14 The Lord of the Glorious Throne, 15 Performer of what He desires. 16 HAS IT ever come within thy ken, the story of the [sinful] hosts 17 Pharaoh and Thamood? 18 In fact, the disbelievers had always rejected (Our revelations). 19 but all the while God encompasses them [with His knowledge and might] without their being aware of it. 20 What is revealed to you is certainly a glorious Quran 21 In the Preserved Tablet. 22
