۞ Muster those who did evil, their wives, and that they were serving, 22 besides God, and show them the way of hell. 23 And detain them, for they will be questioned." 24 How is it that you are not helping one another? 25 indeed, on that Day they will surrender themselves. 26 and advance one upon another, asking each other questions. 27 These say, 'Why, you of old would come to us from the right hand.' 28 They will reply: "Nay, you yourselves were not believers. 29 we had no power over you; but you yourselves were a rebellious people. 30 So on us hath been justified the sentence of our Lord: verily we are to taste. 31 And we led you to deviation; indeed, we were deviators." 32 And verily, on that Day they all will share in their common suffering. 33 Verily that is how We shall deal with Sinners. 34 Truly, when it was said to them: La ilaha ill-Allah "(none has the right to be worshipped but Allah)," they puffed themselves up with pride (i.e. denied it). 35 and said: “Shall we forsake our deities for the sake of a distracted poet?” 36 Rather, the Prophet has come with the truth and confirmed the [previous] messengers. 37 you shall surely taste the painful punishment, 38 but you shall not be recompensed except for what you were doing. 39 Except the chosen bondmen of Allah. 40 will have their determined sustenance 41 Fruits, and they shall be highly honored, 42 In Gardens of Delight. 43 On thrones, facing each other. 44 Round will be passed to them a Cup from a clear-flowing fountain, 45 White, delicious for the drinkers. 46 but not harmful or intoxicating. 47 And with them will be chaste females, restraining their glances (desiring none except their husbands), with wide and beautiful eyes. 48 who are as chaste as sheltered eggs. 49 So one among them turns to the other, questioning. 50 The speaker among them said, “I had a companion.” 51 who would say, "Are you a confirmer? 52 What, when we are dead and become dust and bones, shall we indeed be requited?" 53 And he will reply: 'Are you looking down (into Hell)' 54 Then he looked down and saw him in the midst of hell. 55 He said: "By Allah! You have nearly ruined me. 56 But for my Lord's blessing, I were one of the arraigned. 57 Are we then not to die 58 except our first death, and shall we not be punished' 59 This is indeed the mighty triumph, 60 For the like of this, then, let the workers work. 61 Is that better by way of hospitality or the Zaqqum tree, 62 We have made this (tree) a trial for the evildoers. 63 Verily, it is a tree that springs out of the bottom of Hell-fire, 64 Its emerging fruit as if it was heads of the devils. 65 Truly they will eat thereof and fill their bellies therewith. 66 Then on top of it they will have a brew of boiling water. 67 Then shall their return be to the (Blazing) Fire. 68 These are the ones who found their fathers steeped in error, 69 So in their footsteps they are being hastened on. 70 So had many an earlier people gone astray, 71 And indeed We had sent Heralds of warnings among them. 72 Look, then how was the end of those who had been warned, 73 except the sincere worshipers of Allah. 74
