The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the angels who drag forth vehemently. 1 and those that blow gently, 2 And who glide with ease. 3 By the angels hastening, 4 And those who govern the event, 5 On the Day the blast [of the Horn] will convulse [creation], 6 Followed by the second blast, 7 (Some) hearts that Day will shake with fear and anxiety. 8 and eyes will be humbly cast down. 9 They are [presently] saying, "Will we indeed be returned to [our] former state [of life]? 10 Even if we should be decayed bones? 11 They say: “That will then be a return with a great loss!” 12 Indeed, it will be but one shout, 13 And they will wake up suddenly. 14 Have you heard the story of Moses? 15 When his Lord called him in the holy valley of Tuwa. 16 That “Go to Firaun – he has rebelled.” 17 Then say thou: wouldst thou to be purified? 18 And I will guide you to your Lord so that you should fear. 19 And he showed him the tremendous token. 20 But he rejected (the truth) and disobeyed. 21 then he turned away hastily, 22 Then he collected (his men) and made a proclamation, 23 And proclaimed: "I (Pharaoh) am your Lord the Highest." 24 but God seized him and meted out to him the chastisement of both the next world and the present: 25 In this there is a lesson for those who have fear of God. 26
