The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By oath of the night when it covers 1 and by the day as it appears radiantly, 2 and by the creation of the male and the female. 3 Your striving is most surely (directed to) various (ends). 4 As for him who gives and is godfearing 5 And believed the best matter to be true 6 observe piety, and believe in receiving rewards from God. 7 And as for him who stinteth and is heedless, 8 and he belied the finest 9 We will facilitate for him the difficult end. 10 His riches will not save him when he perisheth. 11 Surely Ours is it to show the way, 12 And verify Ours is both the Hereafter and the life present. 13 Therefore do I warn you of a Fire blazing fiercely; 14 whereat none but the most wretched shall be roasted, 15 even he who cried lies, and turned away; 16 He will be far away from the most pious. (The first Caliph S. Abu Bakr Siddiq) 17 Who giveth away his substance that he may be cleansed, 18 And is under no one's obligation to return his favour, 19 But only seeking the countenance of his Lord, Most High. 20 He verily will be content. 21
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
