VERILY, Abraham was a man who combined within himself all virtues, devoutly obeying God's will, turning away from all that is false, and not being of those who ascribe divinity to aught beside God: 120 He showed his gratitude for the favours of Allah, who chose him, and guided him to a Straight Way. 121 And We gave him good in the world, and in the Hereafter he is among the righteous. 122 Then We revealed to thee: 'Follow thou the creed of Abraham, a man of pure faith and no idolater.' 123 The Sabbath was appointed only for those who differed concerning it, and lo! thy Lord will judge between them on the Day of Resurrection concerning that wherein they used to differ. 124 (O Prophet), call to the way of your Lord with wisdom and goodly exhortation, and reason with them in the best manner possible. Surely your Lord knows best who has strayed away from His path, and He also knows well those who are guided to the Right Way. 125 Hence, if you have to respond to an attack [in argument,] respond only to the extent of the attack levelled against you; but to bear yourselves with patience is indeed far better for [you, since God is with] those who are patient in adversity. 126 Exercise patience and let it be only for the cause of God. Do not be grieved about them nor disappointed at their evil plans. 127 Verily Allah is with those who fear and those who are well-doers. 128
