Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ By the Day of Resurrection, 1 And I swear by the self-reproaching person (a believer). 2 Does man think that We cannot [resurrect him and] bring his bones together again? 3 Surely We are able to reform even his finger-tips. 4 But man wishes to do wrong (even) in the time in front of him. 5 He asks, "When will be the Day of Judgment?" 6 When the sight is dazed, 7 the moon eclipsed. 8 and the sun and moon are brought together, 9 people will say, "Is there anywhere to run away?" 10 By no means! NO refuge! 11 Before thy Lord (alone), that Day will be the place of rest. 12 On that day man is told the tale of that which he hath sent before and left behind. 13 Indeed, man shall be a witness against himself, 14 even though they make excuses. 15 Do not move your tongue with it to make haste with it, 16 We Ourself shall see to its collection and recital. 17 Wherefore when We recite it, follow thou the reciting thereof. 18 and then, behold, it will be for Us to make its meaning clear. 19 NAY, but [most of] you love this fleeting life, 20 and are heedless of the Everlasting Life. 21 [Some] faces, that Day, will be radiant, 22 and look forward to receiving mercy from their Lord. 23 and some faces on that Day will be gloomy, 24 Knowing that they will be subjected to a torment that breaks the backs. 25 But when [man's soul] reaches the throat, 26 and people ask, "Is there any wizard [that could save him]?" 27 and he thinks that it is the parting 28 And anguish will be heaped upon anguish: 29 Unto thy Lord that day will be the driving. 30
