The Comet (Al-Taareq)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By the sky, and by the nightly comer! 1 And what will make you know what the comer by night is? 2 It is the piercing star. 3 There is no soul but has a protector over it. 4 So let man consider of what he is created: 5 He has been created from an ejected drop of fluid 6 That is issued from between the backs and the ribs. 7 Lo! He verily is Able to return him (unto life) 8 on the Day when consciences are examined, 9 Then man will have no power or any helper. 10 By the heaven which giveth the returning rain, 11 and by the earth ever bursting with verdure, 12 this is indeed a Decisive Word, 13 It is not a thing for amusement. 14 They are devising guile, 15 And I (too) am planning a plan. 16 Therefore respite the unbelievers, and delay them for a while. 17
