Hoarding (Al-Takaathur)

8 verses, revealed in Mecca after Bounty (Al-Kawthar) before Charity (Al-Maa'oon)

In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

The emulous desire of abundance engrosseth you, 1 until you go down to your graves. 2 But you will soon come to know. 3 nay, again, you shall soon come to know. 4 Yes certainly, if you had believed with certainty, you would not have craved for wealth. 5 you would see the fire of Hell. 6 Then ye shall surely behold with the surety of vision. 7 Then, shall ye be questioned that Day about the joy (ye indulged in!). 8

Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
