And verily Yunus was of the sent ones. 139 Call to mind when he fled to the laden ship, 140 cast lots, and was among the losers. 141 and the fish swallowed him while he was blaming himself. 142 Had he not glorified God, 143 He would have remained inside its belly until the Day they are resurrected. 144 ۞ But We threw him onto the open shore while he was ill. 145 And We made a gourd tree grow over him. 146 And We sent him to a hundred thousand, rather they exceeded. 147 They believed in him so We granted them enjoyment for an appointed time. 148 Now ask them their opinion: Is it that thy Lord has (only) daughters, and they have sons?- 149 Or did We create the angels as females while they were witnesses?" 150 Now surely it is of their own lie that they say: 151 'God has begotten a son.' They are certainly liars. 152 Did He choose daughters rather than sons? 153 Woe to you! How terrible is your Judgment. 154 Then will you not be reminded? 155 Or have you, perchance, a clear evidence [for your assertions]? 156 Then produce your writ, if ye are truthful. 157 And they have invented a blood-relationship between Him and the Jinns: but the Jinns know (quite well) that they have indeed to appear (before his Judgment-Seat)! 158 Glorified be Allah from that which they attribute (unto Him), 159 Except the bondmen of Allah sincere. 160 For, verily, neither ye nor those ye worship- 161 Can lead (any) into temptation concerning Allah, 162 except him who shall roast in Hell. 163 There is not one of us (angels) but has his known place (or position); 164 Lo! we, even we are they who set the ranks, 165 and we are of those who glorify Allah.” 166 And indeed they used to say: 167 "Had we received guidance from the people living before us, 168 we would certainly be true servants of God." 169 And yet, [now that this divine writ has been placed before them,] they refuse to acknowledge it as true! In time, however, they will come to know [what it was that they had rejected]: 170 And, verily, Our Word has gone forth of old for Our slaves, the Messengers, 171 That undoubtedly, only they will be helped. 172 and that Our army will be triumphant. 173 So withdraw from them (O Muhammad) awhile, 174 and watch them. They, too, will watch. 175 Do they seek to hasten on Our Torment? 176 When it descends into their courtyard, it will be terrible for those who have already been warned. 177 So turn (O Muhammad SAW) away from them for a while, 178 and watch. They, too, will watch. 179 Glory be to thy Lord, the Lord of Glory, above that they describe! 180 And peace be unto the sent ones. 181 And all praise is due to God alone, the Sustainer of all the worlds! 182
